We are students of Olabide Ikastola. Our city, Vitoria-Gasteiz, was the European Green Capital in 2012. We are participants at the Eco-school Barría.
Water is our most important natural resource. Almost 97% of the water on the earth has too much salt for us to use, and another 2% is frozen in ice caps and glaciers. This leaves only 1% for humans and animals to use. Water is necessary to survive in the world and is a limited resource.
We use water for almost everything. As water is a very good solvent, lots of industries use it, although in most places it is forbidden because it pollutes a lo0t, they still do it.
In our homes, we use it for drinking, washing, cleaning cooking and so on. At work and in school we also use water for those things. When we use water, we usually pollute it and make it dirty.
We need to conserve water because water is the thing we most use everyday. We need to conserve water because if we don't use it correctly then we cannot drink it. We need to stop pollution because we throw rubbish in the ocean and the water will be polluted.
We can conserve water by not spending a lot of time in the shower. We have to use the shower, not the bath. We use the shower and we save the water, but if we use the bath we don't save water. When we throw waste in the water we don't save water. We don't have to leave the tap open when we brush our teeth. We should close the tap.
It is very important that we conserve water. It is everyone's responsibility. People need water to live and we need to protect the future.
